A FREE telephone reassurance service designed to enhance the quality of life for older adults, or adults with disabilities, who live alone or who are at risk of sudden illness, falls, accidents, and/or social isolation. Through the service, the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office places a daily call to each person enrolled at a specified time. If no response is received, a Deputy is dispatched to the residence to ensure the person’s safety.

Community transportation system for residents of Brunswick County for non-emergency transportation. BTS also has services to New Hanover County on Tuesdays and Thursdays. One way fares range from $1.50, $3.00 and $5.00 depending on distance traveled. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00 am – 4:00 pm. Call to schedule transportation between 8:00 am – 2:30 pm, at least 48 hours in advance.

The hotline is a pilot program and is a coordinated effort across the Tri-county area. It will operate Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 10am to 4pm – the last assessment is at 3:30. We are taking appointments and call-ins. Individuals can call the hotline 910-444-8315 for the assessment to be placed on the community prioritization list. If there is no answer, please leave a voicemail or text their call back information and we will assist them.
